The fireworks were bursting
Above the gathered crowd.
The colors lit the sky.
The noise was very loud.
 
The people watched with pleasure
As each new light exploded.
They cheered the entertainment
And the hope that it promoted.
 
We celebrate the 4th
With awe and admiration.
Our forefathers had the vision
To create our awesome nation.
 
Our economy is troubled
But we will live to tell the story
How hard work and dedication
Brought back our former glory.
 
With a history of freedom
We'll show the world resilience.
Our spirit shines for all to see
Like firecrackers' brilliance.
